Backup without superuser rights

Is it possible to make a backup with an account other than superuser? if yes,
what is the role that allows a user to make a backup without superuser rights

Grid database backup can be done only by a super user. NIOS Admin guide states the same under section "Backing Up Files" as shown below.

"You must log in with a superuser account to back up files"
